This is an arrangement wherein two Utilities/States trade power to match the seasonal variations in surplus and deficit situations. Banking is cash-less transaction, wherein no tariff need to be paid for the energy availed/supplied. Such power banking or swap arrangements have been executed between almost all Utilities in India. PTC has played a major part in the evolution of this concept, and has successfully facilitated many such transactions.
